Only visible text is edited
Content Polisher reads your content as HTML, finds the text between tags and changes only that text. Every other byte — tags, attributes, comments, whitespace inside markup — is kept exactly as it was.
- Links, image attributes and HTML attributes are never changed.
- Shortcodes and their attributes are kept as they are.
- Block markup (
<!-- wp:… -->) is kept; text is edited only in blocks whose content is stored as HTML, so edited blocks stay valid in the editor.
Code is skipped
pre, code, script, style and textarea elements, code blocks, custom HTML blocks and code shortcodes are never checked.
Things that look like mistakes but are not
URLs, e-mail addresses, domains, file names, numbers, times and common abbreviations are recognised and left alone — example.com, v2.1 and e.g. are not "missing spaces".
Page builders
Pages built with Elementor, Beaver Builder, SiteOrigin, Brizy, Oxygen, Bricks or Thrive Architect store their real content outside the post content, so they are skipped. Divi and WPBakery text is checked without touching shortcode attributes.
Safe saving
- The original is backed up before every change, and WordPress revisions are created as usual.
- Posts open in the editor by another user are skipped.
- A post that changed since the scan is not fixed with stale data.
- Each change also requires permission to edit that specific post.
