Elementor Pro

Check and fix the text of pages built with Elementor.

Why Elementor pages need special handling

Elementor stores a page's layout and text as JSON in its own post meta. The post content only holds a plain copy that Elementor regenerates, so editing it would change nothing on the page. That is why the free plugin skips Elementor pages, and why Pro checks the widgets themselves.

What is checked

  • The text settings of every widget: Heading titles, Text Editor content, Button text, Icon Box and Image Box titles and descriptions, Testimonials, Alerts and more.
  • Items of repeater widgets, such as Accordion, Tabs, Toggle and Icon List.
  • Widgets of Elementor Pro and of other plugins: Content Polisher reads which settings hold text from Elementor itself (text, text area and WYSIWYG settings of the Content tab).
  • The atomic widgets of the Elementor editor V4 (Heading, Paragraph, Button).
  • Elementor templates: Theme Builder headers, footers and popups, saved templates and global widgets — text that is shown on many pages at once.

Technical settings — CSS IDs and classes, URLs, anchors, shortcodes — and settings filled by dynamic tags are never touched.

Scan results for an Elementor page, each issue labelled with its widget and setting
Every issue shows its widget: "Accordion › Accordion Items #1 › Title".

Fixing and undo

  • Elementor issues are fixed like any other issue: one by one, per page, or with Fix all safe issues.
  • Only the changed value is rewritten inside the Elementor data; everything else stays byte for byte as Elementor saved it, and Elementor's element cache is cleared so the page shows the new text.
  • Each changed widget setting has its own row in History and can be undone on its own.

Elementor keeps a plain-text copy of the page in the post content, used for example by WordPress search. It is refreshed the next time you save the page in Elementor.

Settings

Settings → Content sources → Elementor switches the check on or off — for pages and templates. It is on by default with an active Pro license. AI proofreading covers Elementor widgets too.
