Supported languages
Content rules support English, French, Ukrainian and Russian. Rules that do not depend on the language — double spaces, empty paragraphs and similar — work for any language.
The plugin interface is available in English, French, Ukrainian and Russian.
How the language of a post is chosen
With Settings → Language set to Automatic, per post:
- If Polylang or WPML is active, the post's language from the plugin is used.
- Otherwise the language is detected from the text of the post.
- If detection is not confident, the site language is used.
The detected language is shown next to each post in the scan results.
Why it matters
Typography differs between languages. In French, a space before ; : ! ? is correct, and a spaced en dash is used; in English the em dash is common; Ukrainian and Russian use «…» quotes. Content Polisher applies the right conventions to each post.
For a language it does not support, language-specific typography is skipped rather than applying the wrong conventions.
Need one language everywhere? Choose it in Settings → Language, and every post is checked with that language's rules.
