URLs, e-mail addresses, domains, file names (report.pdf), numbers (3.14, 1,000), times and abbreviations (e.g.) are recognised and left alone.
Typography
- A spaced double hyphen becomes a dash:

Two or more <br> tags in a row, usually left over from pasted text. · Suggestion — they are sometimes used on purpose for spacing.

Advanced typography
- Typographic quotes for the content language: “…” in English, «…» in Ukrainian and Russian, « … » with non-breaking spaces in French.
- Three periods become an ellipsis character:
